Hua Hin attracts more and more people every year. Being quiet and with very good infrastructure, Hua Hin is ideal for families with children and people who like quieter and relaxed holidays.
The name of the city is translated as “Stone Head”. Relatively young, it is also very popular among the local population.
Hua Hin was truly loved by the favourite King of Thailand, Rama 9, his summer residence is built here. This is what makes the city one of the safest in the country. Enhanced control reduces crime to negligible levels.
Another big plus of Hua Hin is the beaches. The main un-broken beach is about 5 km long, though in reality the beach stretches almost 30 km all the way to Cha Am. Even in high season it is a comfortable place for sunbathing and swimming. The entrance to the water is gentle enough for children. In winter, there are often waves, at this time, tourists can try themselves in an interesting water sport – kite surfing.
In a relatively small city, two large shopping malls are open and available seven days a weeks. For people who like local street markets, there are many, working mostly in the evenings, and from Friday to Sunday Cicada market opens – a unique place where they have all kinds of different handicrafts.
